Everything below is in the free tier, with no limit on courses, learners or certificates.
Courses laid out as a curriculum
Modules and lessons, rich text, embedded PDFs and video. Move the academy handbook you already wrote in Google Docs into a course people work through in order.
Video with checkpoint questions
Embed a YouTube walkthrough and drop checkpoint questions at any timestamp. The video pauses, they answer, then it continues.
Exams graded on submission
Multiple choice, multi-select, true/false and written answers, with explanations that appear after submission. Retake limits and passing scores are yours to set.
Two-stage certification
Require a practical sign-off after the written exam - a ride-along, a range qual, a scenario test. The certificate only issues once an evaluator approves it.
Certificates people can verify
Every certificate carries a unique credential ID and a public verification URL. Anyone can confirm it is genuine without an account.
Progress for every learner
Per-learner progress, resume-where-they-left-off, overdue assignments and a gradebook you can export to CSV, so you can chase the people who are stuck.
Three steps, and the bot fills in most of the first one
Step 1. Connect your Discord
Add the bot to your server. We read the server name, icon and roles so your academy is already branded before you type anything.
Step 2. Set up departments
Police, Fire, EMS - whatever you run. Give each one a badge and map it to a Discord role so the right people get the right training.
Step 3. Build and publish
Write your first course, auto-assign it to a role, and start issuing certificates.
Your members sign in with the Discord account they already have. There is nothing new to hand out.
What people ask before they start
Is it actually free, or free-for-30-days free?
Actually free. Unlimited courses, unlimited learners, unlimited certificates. There is no trial clock and no card on file. We make money when communities outgrow the LMS and buy CDECAD - not before.
Do I need a FiveM server to use it?
No. CDE Academy is a standalone LMS. All you need is a Discord server so your members have something to sign in with. If you do run FiveM and later buy CDECAD, every course, department and certificate you built carries straight over.
How do my members join?
They log in with the same Discord account they already use for your community. You map departments to Discord roles, so anyone holding the role sees the training assigned to it - no invite lists to maintain.
What happens to my data if I upgrade to CDECAD?
Nothing moves. Your free academy is a full community record already - upgrading unlocks dispatch, MDTs, the civilian portal and the rest around the courses you have. No export, no import, no migration.
Can I require in-person training as well as a quiz?
Yes. Turn on two-stage certification and a course needs both the online exam and a practical sign-off from an evaluator you nominate. The certificate is withheld until someone approves the practical.
The academy is the free part of CDECAD
CDECAD adds an RMS and CMS to the LMS - dispatch, police, fire and EMS MDTs, the civilian portal, courts and investigations, all wired to the academy you already built. Nothing to migrate.
